Grades K-5 are using the Everyday Math Program (EDM) which is a research based curriculum developed by the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project. The number of features that distinguish the EDM curriculum are real life problem solving, emphasis on communication, basic skills practice and an enhanced school parent partnership. The Everyday Math Program is proving to be is a rich and varied program that is enabling our students to learn more mathematical content and become better problem solvers and thinkers. Grades 6 –7 use the Scott Foresman Addison Wesley Middle School Math Program. The curriculum in both grades has been supplemented by the Connected Math Program which has enabled students to develop mathematical knowledge, understanding and skills and have increased their awareness of the connections between math and the other content areas. Pre-algebra is currently taught in the 8th grade. This year there is also an algebra class for those students who have scored high on their CMTS. . . |
